Anxiety Therapy
Is Your Mind Constantly Preoccupied With Anxious Thoughts?
Are your days consumed by fear and worry? Do you:
- Struggle to feel at ease and, instead, worry about all of the things you have to do?
- Find your mind ruminating on negative thoughts when you try to rest or slow down?
- Fixate on worst-case scenarios and everything that could possibly go wrong?
Perhaps you experience a deep sense of fear, apprehension, or dread—even in situations you otherwise “should” enjoy. Or maybe you’re considering anxiety therapy because you’re so stressed that it’s nearly impossible to relax, sleep at night, or simply get out of bed.
Anxiety Can Creep Into Nearly Every Aspect Of Your Life
You probably spend a lot of time worrying about everything from your health and career direction to relationships and the well-being of loved ones. You may find yourself avoiding situations that tend to make you anxious, which is deteriorating your social and romantic life, leaving you feeling even more isolated.

In addition to feeling constantly overwhelmed, you may be experiencing headaches, insomnia, or chronic fatigue. Pain or tension in your body, GI issues, brain fog, or energy fluctuations likely cause you to worry that something serious is wrong with you. You may even be experiencing debilitating panic attacks that cause chest pains or shortness of breath.
All of these scary sensations can exacerbate anxious thoughts and feelings, but there is a way to break free from the cycle of fear and worry. Wherever you are in your healing journey, working with an anxiety disorder specialist gives you invaluable tools, insight, and support that can help you start living with a greater sense of safety, confidence, and inner peace.

Millions Of People Just Like You Struggle With Anxiety
Anxiety is one of the most common daily struggles and frequently contributes to stress-related issues, such as poor health, insomnia, and panic attacks. The Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA) states that anxiety disorders affect 40 million US adults each year.* Our culture, with its unforgiving demands, often increases stress levels, thus exacerbating these disorders.
Typically, when we perceive a threat, our bodies respond by becoming anxious—a signal that the brain’s natural fight-or-flight survival mechanism has been activated. Because modern society has so many stressors occurring at all times, for many of us, the brain gets stuck in survival mode and perceives everything—even the familiar—as a potential threat.
Life Provides Plenty Of Stressors That Contribute To Anxiety
The expectation to be constantly accessible and responsive in today’s technology-driven world makes it challenging to escape stress and anxiety. Many people spend excessive time on social media, email, and texting, while those who work remotely often find themselves working longer hours, leading to exhaustion and burnout.
Unfortunately, society offers little in the way of effective anxiety relief. Instead, our culture teaches us to “tough it out” and not admit to needing help while community support systems have dwindled. Many people turn to food, shopping, or substance use for temporary relief, but this can lead to further anxiety due to the negative impact on health and finances.
Without proper treatment, anxiety can become an endless cycle—but that’s why I’m here. Remember, what you’re going through is not your fault, and you are not weak or broken. Your nervous system is simply trying to help you survive! There are millions and millions of people dealing with an anxiety or panic disorder of some kind, but with the help of counseling, you truly can find peace.
Anxiety Therapy Can Help You Reclaim Your Life
Life is too precious to spend most of it worrying, which is why therapy for stress and anxiety is so important. Whether you’re struggling with people-pleasing tendencies, imposter syndrome, social anxiety, or any other related situation, anxiety therapy can help you take control of your life and your future.
Some of the things counseling can help with include providing relief from anxiety symptoms while decreasing stress and increasing your ability to feel and be with your emotions. You can foster a deeper sense of safety and agency in your body and make difficult life transitions with greater ease. Ultimately, you’ll be able to enjoy life more without fear getting in the way of everything.

An Overview of Anxiety Counseling: A Plan In Action
As an anxiety counselor, I do not take a one-size-fits-all approach to healing. You are an individual with very specific needs, and I approach every client from that lens. I look at the past, the present, and the future, working with the whole picture to help us understand why your nervous system is responding with fear and defense. I consider all aspects of your life—mind, body, and soul—and focus on long-term healing and growth.
In our intake session, I’ll start by getting to know you and your story, exploring your concerns, and identifying any past experiences that may be affecting you now. During subsequent therapy sessions, I’ll examine current life stressors and major transitions that may be causing you anxiety and guide you toward making objective decisions that align with your values and needs. I’ll also teach you proven nervous-system healing exercises and mindfulness skills to help you self-soothe and stay grounded.
My Philosophy And Approach To Therapy For Stress And Anxiety
I take an integrative, holistic approach to anxiety treatment that combines the principles of behavioral science, stress physiology, embodiment, and parts work (Internal Family Systems). I also draw from Polyvagal Theory, Sensorimotor Therapy, and Transformative Touch—all of which teach you how to reconnect with your body and work with your own nervous system to relieve stress and anxiety.
The psychotherapy I practice is a holistic and integrative approach to anxiety counseling because it combines both cognitive and somatic (body-based) modalities that honor your body’s intuitive wisdom. These strategies use therapeutic movement, imagery, dialogue, and mindfulness to increase your awareness of your internal experience, which helps you identify and manage anxiety in the body (where it begins) and the mind (how it affects your well-being).
Regardless of its cause, how long anxiety has been an issue, or how much it is affecting your life, working with a therapist truly can improve your state of mind and how you function. From managing stress and preventing burnout to overcoming people-pleasing and just feeling more at ease, anxiety therapy can help you break the cycle of fear and enable you to discover your best self.
Still Have Questions Or Concerns About Anxiety Therapy?
Will anxiety treatment really help me?
Anxiety is one of the most successfully treated mental health challenges. While it requires effort, therapy can help you heal the wounds that are actually driving your anxiety. The holistic strategies I use, combined with the insight you’ll gain, can help you regulate your nervous system, manage symptoms, and navigate challenges in ways that make life, work, and relationships a whole lot easier all around.
My coping skills haven’t worked. Will psychotherapy for anxiety make things worse?
Everyone’s experience with anxiety is different. That’s why I’ll introduce you to new, research-driven coping skills and somatic practices that are tailored to your needs. At the same time, I’ll help you identify coping mechanisms you’re already using with success while working to eliminate those that are causing more harm than good.
I don’t have time for anxiety counseling.
If finding time for self-care is challenging, online anxiety counseling eliminates the need to commute or rearrange your schedule, making it easier to fit therapy into your life. Remember, you don’t have to stay stuck fighting negative thoughts and worrying about everything under the sun. With the right support and guidance, you can enjoy a life where you feel calmer, more confident, and in control.
