Spiritual Counseling

Do You Sense There’s More To Life Than What We Can See?

Are you a deep thinker who is sensitive, empathic, and capable of feeling other people’s emotions as strongly as your own? Do you wrestle with a sense of emptiness, no matter what you achieve, and know that there is more to life than what you’ve experienced so far?

Perhaps you’re hoping spiritual counseling can help you connect with your intuition, your inner voice, and that part of yourself we often refer to as the soul.

Or…maybe you’re at a crossroads where you feel unfulfilled by material possessions and relationships, and you’re ready to connect to your life’s purpose on a deeper level.

Connecting With Your Authentic Self Can Be More Complicated Than It Seems

Embarking on a spiritual journey can be a profound blessing and a formidable challenge. As you shift from identifying with old cultural or familial beliefs to embracing your authentic self, it’s natural to experience fear, existential stress, and other emotional struggles.

Remember, these feelings are a normal part of the spiritual journey. The key is to integrate the old parts of your life (including old judgments, fears, and critical beliefs) while lovingly guiding them toward becoming supportive partners that align with your essence (true self). As a spiritual therapist, I want to help you do just that.

If you long to establish a genuine connection with your spiritual purpose and create a life that resonates with your deeper self, I encourage you to consider spiritual psychotherapy. With my expertise in helping individuals harmonize their everyday lives with their spiritual selves, I’m confident I can support you on this transformative journey.

Many People Struggle To Access Their Spirituality In Our Culture

Albert Einstein famously stated, “The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.” I think Einstein would agree that we live in a culture that’s obsessed with hustling and productivity, achieving, and the never-ending pursuit of material wealth and success.

As a result, millions of people go through life feeling disconnected from their internal worlds and sense of spirituality. Few of us even have time to really slow down and pay attention to what’s happening inside of us. All the fatigue and emotional overwhelm we face leave us with little ability to hear our inner voice and connect to our wise, intuitive self.

Why Work With A Spiritual Counselor?

Part of spiritual counseling is about helping you listen to that still, wise voice within you so that you can rediscover your intuition and reconnect to your authentic self. Spiritual psychotherapy and coaching, as I provide it, is not about religion (although if you personally have a deep connection with religion, it can certainly include that).

Rather, working with a spiritual therapist is about helping you connect with your spirit, soul, or what I refer to as your essence. It’s about supporting you in traveling your own path and defining your relationship with that which you see as your higher power or source.

Whether we call it spiritual guidance, intuitive development, or spiritual counseling, I want to walk beside you as your guide and ally, offering you clarity and direction along the way.

Spiritual Counseling Can Help You Reconnect With Your Essential Self

The purpose of spiritual counseling is to help you reconnect with your essential self (your essence). That goal requires transcending trauma passed down through generations and overcoming the limiting beliefs taught by our culture that simply don’t align with your soul’s purpose. I refer to the part of us that transcends our social identity interchangeably as the essential self, essence, or soul.

Each soul has a unique relationship with its source, which goes by many names in our culture: God, Spirit, Higher Power, The Universe, Source, Mother/Father Earth, and Unified Consciousness—to name but only a few. No matter what you call your source, the goal of counseling is for you to connect with that sacredness so that you can unlock your innermost essence and identify your life’s purpose.

What Is My Philosophy On Spiritual Counseling?

Carl Jung’s emphasis on the importance of integrating the unconscious with the conscious mind deeply resonates with my therapeutic approach, since it allows for a more holistic understanding of my clients’ issues. The lens through which I view my own spirituality is commonly referred to as “Universal Spirituality.”

This spiritual framework is focused on discovering shared truths and commonalities between different spiritual and religious traditions. That’s why I find myself drawn to the wisdom of indigenous, earth-based philosophies and open myself to learning from all people who seek to understand their relationship with their sacred source.

Universal Spirituality places an emphasis on the interconnectedness of all beings and the search for a deeper, more fulfilling life. I believe that we are born whole and perfect in our existence. My role as a spiritual therapist is to help you find your way back to the truth of who you are. This ability already lies inside of you—and tapping into that resource doesn’t mean you have to fix anything about yourself.

Rather, healing and rediscovering your essence merely requires shedding old fears and peeling back layers of defense, which is what my holistic approach to spiritual therapy is all about. Although your truth and essence may seem elusive right now, rest assured, it is already within you.

How Do I Help My Clients Achieve Transformation?

To help each individual discover a richer, more meaningful life, my spiritual counseling and coaching sessions blend several cognitive and somatic therapy models. Some of my favorites include Hakomi, Parts Work, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, as well as NeuroAffective Touch and Transformative Touch theories.

All of these strategies are greatly influenced by Polyvagal Theory, which is rooted in the inner workings of attachment and the nervous system. Both personally and professionally, I have a deep passion for understanding human development and healing, and I am a committed lifelong learner who strives to bring cutting-edge techniques into my work with clients.

Wherever you are in your journey to connecting with your essence and sacred source, I want to help. With my holistic, integrative approach to spiritual counseling, I believe you can achieve a level of healing, growth, and transformation that can change your life forever.

You May Have Some Questions About Spiritual Counseling…

Does spiritual therapy really promote healing and personal growth?

Yes, but the truth is: I am not the healer. You are. You already have everything you need to find your way back to wholeness and health (mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual). You just need a little guidance, and that’s what spiritual counseling is for. Though I can offer support, clarity, and direction, you are ultimately the one who will find and heal yourself. In that sense, I suppose we are all healers.

What if I’m not a spiritual person, but I’m curious about spiritual things?

My spiritual counseling sessions are made for the curious and open-minded. They are for those who wish to know their true selves and live more authentic lives. You don’t have to be a spiritual person to participate—in fact, those with the least amount of spirituality in their background often bring the freshest eyes to the process of awakening, since they are generally very open to new perspectives.

Will you impose your belief system on me?

Absolutely not. My role as a spiritual counselor is to listen to you and focus on your beliefs, not mine. I am here to be a sounding board for you to process your spirituality and help you live a life in accordance with your spiritual values.

I Would Be Honored To Help You Navigate This Journey Back Home
